For those of you who haven't yet heard about it yet, our big business goal for the year is to open a retail store in San Francisco, hopefully in time for holiday 2013 sales.
So, in addition to all the other stuff required to keep House of Nines chugging along, we're mocking up floor plans for the shop, choosing and pricing out furnishings and fixtures, and planning out the design of the space and how it will function. The search for retail commercial space is underway, but given the scarcity of open spaces in the areas of San Francisco we're shooting for, it may take a while. Since the workshop will be in there with the showroom, a pretty large space is needed for all the work space, equipment and machinery needed, which is an added challenge to finding the right space.
Sometime this summer, we're hoping to squeeze in a new website and online store. My new Guy Friday, Jason Galloway, is handling a lot of the added workload, especially the web-related stuff. He's a wiz!
